Meet Grace
Licensed Associate Marriage & Family Therapist
Grace Brown, AMFT
Grace is an associate marriage and family therapist. Grace helps teens build meaningful connections and navigate the complexities of their changing relationships. She brings a wealth of experience in working with teens and is known for her compassionate and empathetic approach.
Experience
Grace is a licensed associate marriage and family therapist. She enjoys working with children, adolescents, young adults, couples, and families with various problems, from anxiety, depression, self-esteem, family/sibling relational issues, parent-child relational and attachment issues, grief and loss, and significant life transitions. She primarily utilizes experiential modalities, such as emotion-focused therapy, which harnesses the power of emotion to guide clients toward positive change. In addition, she also uses cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) to help clients along their journeys. She believes in taking a client-centered approach, honoring her clients in their personhood, and meeting them where they are.
A Therapeutic Approach Rooted in Connection
In therapy, Grace believes that the foundation for creating positive change is the therapeutic relationship. Grace works to act as a co-explorer in her client's journey towards growth and healing. She values creating a safe space where her clients feel heard, seen, and understood as they bravely face the pain and hurt that leads to their liberation and growth.
Specialized Support for All Ages, Individuals or Families
Grace's expertise is working with those hoping to overcome past traumas, major life transitions, and relational/attachment issues. She has experience working with anxiety, depression, low self-worth, grief and loss, chronic pain, couple-related issues, family/sibling relational issues, and parent-child relational and attachment issues.
Beyond the Therapy Room
Outside of the practice, Grace is an exercise enthusiast. She enjoys weight-lifting, boxing, and yoga. She grew up on a farm and also enjoys spending time in nature and being around animals.

Grace earned her Master of Marriage and Family Therapy from Mercer University and is a Licensed Associate Marriage and Family Therapist. Grace also has her Bachelor of Arts in Human Service Studies from Elon University. Grace is working towards her full licensure under the supervision of Dr. Salzman. She is also a member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT).

A Commitment to Healing & Growth
Grace understands that accessing painful emotions and experiences is often a challenging journey. She is committed to creating a space where your story can be deeply seen and witnessed so you may release the constrained patterns that no longer serve your growth or healing.
Grace seeks to provide a safe space where you feel seen and heard.
“My role as a therapist is to act as a co-explorer in my client's journey towards positive change. I walk alongside my clients as we work towards placing their healing and growth in the driver's seat of their lives. It is important that I create a safe space where my clients feel heard, seen, and understood as they bravely face the emotions and patterns that lead to their liberation and growth."

Meet Kramer
Professional PLAYMATE
Though his educational background is a little thin, Kramer is a mini golden doodle who is hypoallergenic. He tags along with Dr. Jeremy in session to help you feel more comfortable in the therapy room. Even those who have some fear of dogs have ended up loving him. He enjoys sleeping, playing with his toys, and getting pets.

We work hard to help you, and we never forget about the importance of play.
Traditional therapy techniques aren’t often playful, causing us to be more rigid and guarded. We use play to create a safe space to open up in the therapy room by incorporating activities such as board games, card games, basketball, and role plays. Our office dog, Kramer, is always eager to play too.
We know that play builds rapport and trust with our clients, as well as gives opportunities to practice the strategies we talk about.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
SPACE Treatment (Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions)
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing)
Parent coaching

“My child didn’t want to go in for treatment at first, but after their session with Dr. Salzman, they weren’t mad, but actually in a better mood than before they went in.”
